Good food and good service, very friendly staff. Can be very busy at times. Good children's menu. Parking close can be difficult at times, only 2 handy capped parking stalls
We have been to the location at 64th and 201 several time and previously had good food and good service. Today we were very disappointed with the service today. The server greeted us with a smile and a welcome then things went downhill from there. Our meal took longer than normal and the restaurant was not busy then I asked for Malt vinegar which came closer to the end of my meal, we got the coleslaw that came with the meal after we had finished our dinner. The dessert that came with our meal took 25 plus minutes, apparently they could not find the whipping cream or strawberries. During the meal the server spent a huge amount of time conversing with the table beside us they were discussing family issues.
Long black hair was found on my wife's toast ( my wife and daughter have blonde hair). I noticed the hair (complete with scalp skin) as my 2 year old was trying to eat the toast and my wife was half done her meal. I brought it up to the waitress and she immediately took the plate away. She returned a few minutes later and said " the cook is bald so it didn't come from there". Followed by "what do you want us to do". I hate this question as I feel it's an unwritten rule for all restaurants that if a meal is ruined by such a thing as a huge hair in the meal, then the restaurant should naturally just comp or discount the meal that was left half eaten. If the restaurant does not want to comp the meal then they should never ask the question in the first place and just bring the bill as it is, I'm ok with this... Really, I just won't eat there again. Instead my wife and I are put in the awkward position of begging they comp the meal. I therefore said " you do what you feel is appropriate".Again the waitress leaves and returns 5 minutes later with a $10 off coupon ( after $20 spent) "for our next visit". I take a breath and try to explain why I advised her of the hair in the first place. The waitress interrupts me repeatedly while now trying to argue the origin of the hair in a quasi murder mystery, who did it (This is going nowhere) debate. I'm fine if you don't want to comp the hairy meal, just don't try and tell me the hair didn't come from the kitchen and I'm wrong for suggesting such a thing.. in fact, where it came from is no consequence to me or my wife who has now ruined her meal and appetite. The coupon to me is an insult especially as I would have to spend $20 bucks just to use it on another visit.. pleeeeease you think I'm coming back to your place to spend more money on service and food like that, think again. While I'm on it the prime rib was all fat, over cooked the Yorkshire pudding was a bran muffin the carrots were undercooked by 10 minutes and the a juis sauce was brown water... the entire meal was horrible, but the service is what ruined it for me. Good luck ricky's, you need it..Correction, this happend at the rickys located at 88th and 204, Langley.
Great service and good food at reasonable prices.
Good food but horrible service. We had an older Asian lady for our server and she was not friendly what so ever. I accidentally ordered the wrong meal and realized it immediately after she left. She popped right back with a plate for our two year old and I asked her to change my order which was just a quick switch to add pancakes and bacon and add chunky hashbrowns on the side. She seemed super annoyed and inconvenienced by this. Then when my food came without the pancakes and I asked about it she told me she switched out the pancakes for the hashbrowns I had asked to be added on the side and she was very snippy about it. She never once came and asked us if we wanted refills or how our food was. I had to flag down a different server after waiting for 15 minutes for someone to refill my coffee with our waitress purposely avoiding our table. She was only half friendly when we were paying and that was only to our two year old not with us. Not sure if she was having a bad day or what but if you can't be friendly to your customers in a customer service position maybe it's time to change jobs.
