This is a huge swath of land in its natural, almost pristine form that existed before the city of Surrey sprawled all over the territory south of Fraser river. The Campbell Valley park proper is connected to other green enclaves to the north and south creating an amazing continuum of diverse habitats, from dense old-growth forest patches through to lighter secondary growth forest to creek swamps and marshes to green meadows. Combined with extensive network of trails (both official and unofficial), its diversity makes this place an exciting exploration ground attracting even avid hikers' interest in any season for a long time. Unfortunately though, very few of these trails are suitable or permitted for bicyclists' use. Nevertheless, big koodos to the city of Surrey for preserving such a green jewel in the midst of their urban sprawl.
The Cambell Valley Horse Trials in August is my favourite Canadian three-day event, particularly the cross-country day! Well-run and fun to watch. As to walking on foot, the trails through the park are long and interesting, but it is easy to find yourself walking much further than you intended. Ways to cross the central portion are limited. Take a trail map and plan your route!
Beautiful park! So many trails. The main loop entrance is off 16 ave close to 200 st and is 2.3 km round trip. It is flat ground and has cute bridges. There are side trails you can take from the loop or you can explore many other trail options from other entry points to Campbell. On the main trail, it is common to see chickadees and they will eat seeds from your hands!! They love sunflower seeds.
Campbell valley Park offers easy walking trails where you can feed the small birds and the ducks. This is a convenient way to fit a bit of nature into your day. It is a great place for children especially if they want to experience having a Chickadee feed from their hand
Love it here. Hard to find parking sometimes though. Lots to explore. Hours and hours of different trails. Beautiful place to visit, very relaxing. A lot of birds squirrels and beautiful old trees. Avoid the perimeter horse trail to give riders some space.
