Despite what others say its a good gym. Has everything you need plus the bonus of the pool/sauna/hot tub/steam room. They constantly have cleaners in there and its usually clean other than the hot tub which lately seems like theyve been doing a better job. They should really try repairing stuff properly and faster thats why I didnt give it 5 stars. Ive been working out here for almost 8 years.. all the staff have always been good.
I do not recommend this location! Equipment is constantly broken, it is dirty, and the pool/hot tub has been closed for most of my year going here. When complaining to management about the pool they always say they are waiting on a part or need to balance chemicals. Got an email a few days ago saying the pool is finally open and went there yesterday to find it is closed again and they need to balance chemicals.. They make you pay a high gym improvement fee each year yet the gym is never in proper working order so it just seems like a money grab. They boast about the state of the art facilities on the website but it sadly isn't like that at all. I do not recommend the Gold's Langley location.
Read the fine print...what someone says is in the agreement and what actually is are two very different things. I actually asked if there was an auto renew...answer was no. I've been told 2 months of my credit card being charged that I now have to give one month notice. BAD BUSINESS GOLD'S GYM, thought you were better than this.
My husband and I have been members at Langley's Gold's gym since it opened and have seen a continually deterioration of this site. I was there last week and after trying 5 pieces of equipment I finely found one that would work. When I complained to the many staff sitting in the office eating their lunch, no one seemed to care. They pointed to the person I should complain to, and he said he knew the equipment did not work. I offered to show him which equipment was broken and he said "I know." We had come with our son and he was charged $15.00 for drop in which is outrageous since the equipment is broken and the pool is closed because its condition is not healthy or safe. In all fairness my son was offered a free pass the next time he is here. We will see if that is actually what happens. They did not give him anything in writing just said they would enter this information into their computer under his name? Do not waste you money at this gym. I would like to know who the "Local Guide" Reviews are done by. They must be people who are blind and do not use the equipment.
Beware!! I have been a member of this gym since it was built approx 11.5 years or so ago. As soon as it opened there were many systems malfunctions and problems. Pool closed for three months; steam room broken and closed for six months; hot tub not hot and constantly being shut down by health department. There were many flashy renovations done last year but the hot tub and swimming pool remain closed for over two months and the reason given is (annual maintenance and cleaning???) Ask for details and you are always told they are waiting for a part. RIGHT!!!! The company doesn't care about any comments or questions from membership. This gym is poorly run and always has systems issues.Good luck. Won't be done anytime soon. There are many better gyms out there. At least they will have working systems and won't constantly be shut down by Health Authorities.UPDATE July 25, 2018. Swimming pool and hot tub still shut down. When staff were asked when the possible dates that the pools will be open, "We Are Waiting For a Part".UPDATE August 1, 2018. Still no hot tub or swimming pool. Waiting for the part from " MARS" still.UPDATE September 5, 2018. Phoned Gold's yesterday. Swimming pool and hot tub are still not open and there is no opening date available. If the spa areas are important to you, beware.
